1) Information we collect
A) Information from Shopify
When you install the App, Shopify provides us with access to certain information needed to run the App, such as:
- Store information (e.g., store name, store domain, timezone)
- Merchant contact details available via Shopify (e.g., primary email)
- Store plan and app-related metadata
- Product data used to display recommendations (e.g., products, variants, tags, prices, availability)
- App configuration and settings stored for your Store
We only request and access Shopify data that's necessary to provide the App's features.
B) Information you provide to us
We collect information you provide when you:
- Contact support (e.g., name, email, message content, attachments)
- Configure settings inside the App (e.g., widget title, display options)
C) Information about Store visitors (end customers)
The App may collect limited usage data to power analytics, such as:
- Recommendation impressions (when a recommendation is shown)
- Add-to-cart interactions on recommended items (clicks/actions)
- Technical and context data (e.g., page type such as product/cart, timestamps, product/variant IDs)
We do not intentionally collect customer names, email addresses, shipping addresses, or payment information through the App's widget. Payments and checkout data are handled by Shopify and the merchant's checkout setup.
2) How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the App (display cross-sell recommendations based on Shopify tags)
- Maintain App settings and display behavior for your Store
- Provide analytics in the App (impressions, add-to-cart interactions, rates)
- Provide support and respond to inquiries
- Improve reliability, prevent abuse, and secure the App
- Comply with legal obligations
3) How we share information
We don't sell merchant or customer data.
We may share information in these limited cases:
- With Shopify, to provide the App and authenticate requests
- With service providers who help us run the App (e.g., hosting, monitoring, error logging, support tools). They can only use data to provide services to us.
- For legal reasons, if required to comply with applicable laws, regulations, subpoenas, or lawful requests, or to protect our rights.
4) Data retention
We retain information only as long as needed to provide the App and for legitimate business purposes (e.g., support, security, dispute resolution).
If you uninstall the App, we will delete or anonymize Store data within a reasonable period (for example, within 90 days), unless we're required to keep certain information to comply with legal obligations.
5) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. However, no system is 100% secure.
6) Your rights and choices
Merchants can request access, correction, or deletion of their information by contacting us (see Contact below).
If you are located in the EEA/UK, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws (such as the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object, and data portability).
Customer data: If Store visitors contact us directly about their personal data, we may direct them to the relevant merchant, since the merchant controls their Store and customer relationship.
7) International transfers
We may process and store information in countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
8) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, legal requirements, or our practices. We'll post the updated version with a new Last updated date.
